Join the Center for Civil and Human Rights on May 9 in celebrating the work of Atlanta youth artists. From photography and sculpture to graphic design and painting, Atlanta youth will showcase their visual art pieces inspired by social justice and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
SIPS UNDER THE SEA – PROM EDITION
You are cordially invited to attend Georgia Aquarium’s Prom Night on Friday, May 11! Dress in your prom best and get ready for those awkward poses because we are throwing Prom 2.0, with significant improvements since high school - signature cocktails, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and no chaperones! Bring the real MVP to the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame on Mother's Day, Sunday May 13. "Moms and Mimosas" is the Hall of Fame's signature Mother's Day event where every mom gets in free. While Dad and the kids play, mom gets one complimentary mimosa, manicure and massage. Don't be late! Fashion boutique Stella & Dot will gift the first 100 moms with a bracelet.
WORKOUT BY THE WATER – BOOTCAMP
Break a sweat at the most unique and inspiring fitness studio Atlanta has to offer – Georgia Aquarium! Workout by the Water offers yoga, pilates and bootcamp classes led by local fitness instructors. Classes are designed to challenge students of all experience levels. Workouts take place in our magnificent Oceans Ballroom, offering incredible views of manta rays and whale sharks guaranteed to motivate you to become a healthier, happier, YOU! Join a boot camp on May 16.

REMAKING BLACK POWER: HOW BLACK WOMEN TRANSFORMED AN ERA
Ashley Farmer will shed light on the untold stories of African American women who shaped the Black Power Movement of the 1960’s and ‘70s at the Center for Civil and Human Rights on May 23. Farmer’s book is the first comprehensive study of black women’s intellectual production and activism in the Black Power era.
MOMOCON ATLANTA
With more than 31,000 unique and over 84,000 turnstile attendance in 2017, MomoCon is one of the fastest growing conventions in the country. Fans of Japanese Anime, American Animation, Comics, Video Games, and Tabletop Games celebrate their passion by costuming / cosplay, browsing the huge exhibitors hall, meeting celebrity voice talent, designers, and writers behind their favorite shows, games, and comics and much more from May 24-27.
SUMMER BASH
School’s out for summer! Celebrate the start of a summer season of learning and fun with Children’s Museum of Atlanta! At the CMA Stage, participate in our Beach Ball and Boogie Board Bonanza relay, or compete in our Limbo Luau game. After being crowned limbo champion, head to the Sand Tables to build and snap a picture of your best sand castle, or to sailboat creation stations to build your own boat and test to see if it will float or sink! As we all skip into summer together at CMA, sign up for a class in the Art Studio to make popsicle pop-art inspired by Andy Warhol. Before you leave, you’ll want to make sure to visit the Build It Lab to make a bubble wand that you can take up to the Summer Bash Bubble Bar upstairs in Step up to Science where you can explore bubbles of all shapes and sizes!
